A tragic incident unfolded at the Mansa Devi Temple in Haridwar on Saturday, where a sudden stampede led to the deaths of six devotees and left many others injured. The chaos reportedly began after a suspected electric shock caused panic among the gathered crowd, triggering a rush of people attempting to flee the area.

Emergency services responded swiftly, with multiple ambulances dispatched to the temple premises. The seriously injured have been transported to nearby hospitals for urgent medical attention. Local police and officials from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) are on-site, managing the situation and investigating the exact cause of the stampede.
Preliminary reports suggest that the stampede was sparked by fear and confusion following an electrical mishap, although authorities are yet to confirm the details. Police teams are currently reviewing the sequence of events and have initiated a thorough investigation.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy. In a post on social media, he said, “The news of the stampede at Mansa Devi Temple is extremely saddening. SDRF, local police, and other rescue teams are at the site, actively carrying out relief and rescue operations.”
