Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy criticized actor Allu Arjun over his involvement in the December 4 Pushpa 2 screening at Sandhya Theatre, Hyderabad, alleging his actions contributed to a deadly stampede. The chaos claimed the life of a 35-year-old woman and left her eight-year-old son hospitalized.

CM Reddy stated that police had denied permission for the actor's visit due to crowd management concerns. Despite this, Allu Arjun attended the event, drawing massive crowds. Videos circulating online show the actor waving to fans from his car's sunroof, both entering and leaving the venue, which reportedly incited the stampede.
Theatre management had sought police security ahead of the event, but their request was rejected. CM Reddy accused Allu Arjun of ignoring the fatal incident, staying at the theatre until police intervened to remove him.
Following the tragedy, a case was registered against the actor, his security team, and the theatre management under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Chikkadpally police station. Allu Arjun was arrested on December 13 and later granted four weeks of interim bail by the Telangana High Court.
Reddy also criticized film personalities for supporting Allu Arjun while ignoring the young boy injured in the incident. He called for greater accountability and vowed that the government would ensure justice for the victims.
