The announcement follows a recent visit by Star Air's Regional Sales Manager (South), Shashikant Yakkarnall, to the Kalyana Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KKCCI) office in Kalaburagi. KKCCI office-bearers welcomed the decision, emphasizing its significance in strengthening business and travel infrastructure.

This development comes amid ongoing efforts by the Karnataka government to address regional aviation challenges. Recent discussions involving key state ministers and private airline operators highlighted the need to bridge air connectivity gaps in under-served regions like Kalaburagi. KKCCI stated that they had been advocating for enhanced air services through continuous engagement with both state and central authorities.

While welcoming the daily service to Bengaluru, KKCCI also urged for the revival of discontinued routes to New Delhi and Tirupati, citing their importance for business and religious travel.

The chamber reiterated its commitment to transforming Kalaburagi Airport into a vital hub for domestic connectivity in north Karnataka.
