Stars from Maharaja T20 Trophy missing in Karnataka’s squad for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy

Karnataka has announced the squad for Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, the domestic T20 competition in India. The team had lost to Punjab in the quarter finals in the previous year. 11 of the 15 players of the squad have however been included in this edition. The team will take on Tamil Nadu on October 16th to start the proceedings. 

Mohammad Taha who had a phenomenal performance with the bat in the Mahraja T20 trophy is missing from the squad. Fast bowler Manvath Kumar, who was the highest wicket taker in the Mahraja T20 trophy has also not found a spot with the side having to accommodate Prasidh Krishna. 

 Karnataka had last won the trophy in the 2019/2020 season. Karnataka are tied in the spot for the second most successful team in the event with 2 trophies along with Gujarat and Baroda. Tamil Nadu is the most successful team with 3 trophies to their name
