A wave of patriotic fervour has swept across Karnataka as special prayers and rituals are being held in temples statewide to honour the Indian Army’s successful strike, codenamed Operation Sindhoor. The operation, conducted in retaliation for the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, saw the destruction of nine terror bases in Pakistan within just 23 minutes, eliminating over 90 militants.

In recognition of the Army’s swift and decisive action, the state’s Muzrai Department has issued an order for special worship to be conducted in all temples. Muzrai Minister Ramalinga Reddy has directed temple authorities to perform special pujas as a tribute to the Indian Armed Forces. The Commissioner of Religious Endowments echoed the sentiment, emphasizing prayers in the name of the Army.
Devotees across the state are performing camphor aartis and offering prayers before photographs of Indian soldiers. Sweets are being distributed, and in many locations, coconuts are being broken in traditional fashion to invoke divine blessings for the Army’s continued strength.
In Bengaluru, large crowds gathered at temples, expressing gratitude and pride in the military’s valor. The celebration of Operation Sindhoor has become not just a symbol of military success, but also a spiritual and emotional tribute to national security and sacrifice.
This spontaneous and state-sponsored gesture reflects the nation’s solidarity and reverence for its defenders in uniform.
