President Droupadi Murmu hailed the Indian armed forces for their "sterling success" in executing Operation Sindoor, a swift and coordinated military response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack. During a detailed briefing by the Chief of Defence Staff and service chiefs today, Murmu praised the courage and precision shown by the military in carrying out strikes between May 7 and 10 on terror camps in Pakistan and PoK, with minimal collateral damage.

“The President commended the valour and the dedication of the armed forces that made India’s response to terrorism a sterling success,” the Rashtrapati Bhavan said after the meeting.
The operation, which involved joint action by the Army, Navy, and Air Force, destroyed nine terror camps and killed over 100 terrorists. In the days following the strikes, India and Pakistan agreed to a ceasefire beginning May 10, halting hostilities across land, air, and sea.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reinforced the operation’s success by visiting the Adampur airbase and debunking false Pakistani claims of damage to Indian installations.
