After a record-breaking start on Independence Day, Amar Kaushik’s Stree 2 has maintained its strong performance at the box office. The horror-comedy, starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, saw a dip in collections on Friday, August 16, but still managed to post impressive numbers despite it being a working day across most parts of India.

According to early estimates from industry tracker Sacnilk, Stree 2 raked in Rs 30 crore on its second day, bringing its total box office collection to Rs 90.3 crore. The film saw an overall Hindi occupancy rate of 45.31%, with the highest audience turnout during the night shows.

Although Stree 2 has successfully drawn audiences to theaters, it fell short of surpassing this year’s Republic Day release Fighter, which earned Rs 39.5 crore on its second day. Despite this, industry insiders believe Stree 2 has the potential to overtake the Hrithik Roshan-led action film in its total earnings, positioning itself among the top-grossing Bollywood films of 2024.

The film’s promising start is a testament to the strong fan base and anticipation built by its predecessor. As Stree 2 heads into the weekend, it is expected to continue its profitable run, solidifying its place in the 2024 box office charts.
