“Stree 2,” a sequel to the 2018 hit “Stree,” started its box office journey with a powerful opening of Rs 51.8 crore. By the end of its four-day extended weekend, the film had already garnered Rs 190 crore at the domestic box office. The momentum continued, leading to a first-week total of Rs 291 crore, securing the film the fourth spot on the list of all-time biggest first-week collections in Hindi cinema.
This impressive feat saw “Stree 2” surpassing the likes of “Baahubali 2” (Rs 247 crore), “KGF 2” (Rs 268.50 crore), and “Gadar 2” (Rs 284.50 crore). It now stands just behind “Animal” (Rs 301 crore), “Jawan” (Rs 348 crore), and “Pathaan” (Rs 351 crore).
Celebrating this monumental success, filmmaker Karan Johar took to Instagram to laud the film’s achievement, calling it a triumph for Hindi cinema and a testament to the power of compelling storytelling and strong audience connection.
