In a remarkable box office achievement, Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor’s horror-comedy Stree 2 has overtaken the lifetime collections of two major Bollywood hits, Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan and Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2, to emerge as the second-highest grossing Hindi film in history. The Amar Kaushik-directed film has collected an impressive ₹526.43 crore nett in India, surpassing Pathaan‘s ₹524.6 crore and Gadar 2‘s ₹525.7 crore.

Stree 2, the fifth instalment of Maddock Films’ supernatural comedy universe, is now poised to challenge the lifetime earnings of Jawan (Hindi version), which raked in ₹555 crore in 2023.

Released on August 15, the film opened to a blockbuster start with ₹64.8 crore nett, including paid previews, and maintained strong momentum with ₹307.8 crore nett in its first week. By the end of the second week, Stree 2 had amassed ₹453.60 crore nett.

Starring alongside Rao and Kapoor are Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana. In its third week, the film continued its dominance, bringing in ₹9.25 crore on Friday, ₹17.40 crore on Saturday, and ₹22.10 crore on Sunday, solidifying its place in box office history.
