The brutal murder of Hindu organization activist Suhas Shetty has sparked a swift response from authorities, with Mangalore police arresting eight individuals in connection with the case. Speaking at a press conference, Dr. Parameshwara emphasized that no one will be allowed to disrupt the social harmony of Mangaluru. “We are committed to ensuring that Mangaluru remains free from communal politics. Our administration will take action against anyone—regardless of community—who engages in violence,” he said.

The minister revealed that Suhas Shetty himself was facing two murder cases, but added that this would not influence the government’s firm approach to maintaining peace. "We want to establish lasting peace in Dakshina Kannada," he stated.

In a major step, the state government has announced the formation of an anti-communal force to specifically address communal violence and hate-driven crimes. Authorities also plan to take legal action against those making inflammatory or provocative speeches that threaten public order.

Dr. Parameshwara reaffirmed that the government’s priority is justice and communal harmony, and warned that anyone attempting to disturb the peace in Mangaluru will be dealt with strictly.
