In a highly anticipated cinematic event, Rajinikanth's 170th film, formerly known as ‘Thalaivar 170,’ is now officially titled ‘Vettaiyan.’

Directed by TJ Gnanavel, this action-packed drama promises to end 2024 with a blockbuster. The film is slated for a grand release on October 10, 2024, coinciding with the Dussehra festival.

‘Vettaiyan’ showcases Rajinikanth in a dynamic role as a retired Muslim police officer who reopens an old case to seek justice. The movie boasts an impressive ensemble cast featuring Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, and Manju Warrier, marking Bachchan's debut in Tamil cinema.

Music for the film is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, who has generated excitement with a teaser for the first single, ‘Hunter Vantaar,’ though the release date remains undisclosed. The film's teaser, released in December 2023, features Rajinikanth making a dramatic entrance with his trademark style, delivering the impactful line, “When the hunt is on, the prey must fall!”
