Suraj Revanna arrested at CEN Police Station in Hassan

 Janata Dal (Secular) (JD(S)) Member of Legislative Council (MLC)  and son of the former Public Works Department (PWD) Minister of Karnataka H.D Revanna, Suraj Revanna has been arrested over an allegation of sexual assault by a party worker. A First Information Report (FIR) was filed at the Holenarasipura Rural Police Station. Suraj was arrested by the Cybercrime, Economic offences, Narcotics (CEN) Police Station in Hassan. Prior to the arrest, an enquiry was conducted that lasted for an entire night. 

The enquiry was conducted as a result of a complaint filed by a youngster. A medical examination will follow to assert the veracity of the complaint. Reports indicate that bite marks were found on the youngster’s body. This is consistent with what was alleged in the complaint.

Suraj’s enquiry was conducted throughout the night on 22nd June. This was even carried forward to the early hours of 23rd June. It is believed that he was taken to an undisclosed location for the enquiry.The case was filed under Section 377, 342 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Suraj has also filed a complaint against the youngster over the charge that he was blackmailed.
