Suriya's much-anticipated film, Kanguva, released on November 14, has been met with mixed reviews and significant criticism across Tamil and Telugu audiences. In particular, music director Devi Sri Prasad (DSP) has become a target of relentless trolling. Audiences have criticized his background score and re-recording for being excessively loud, detracting from the overall viewing experience. Tamil Nadu audiences have been especially vocal, expressing disappointment not only with DSP’s work but also with Suriya’s choice to be part of the project.

While both the actor and the composer have faced backlash, DSP has borne the brunt of the criticism, with social media flooded with complaints about the film's auditory issues. Reports indicate that the production team has since corrected the re-recording, but many believe the damage to the film’s reputation has already been done.

Directed by Siva, Kanguva was anticipated to be a major success, with Suriya's star power drawing large crowds initially. However, the underwhelming audience response and widespread trolling have dampened the film’s prospects, raising questions about its long-term box-office performance.
