The International Cricket Council (ICC) T-20 World Cup has produced its first major upset with the United States of America (USA) securing a win against Pakistan. The match went down all the way to the super overs after U.S.A matched Pakistan’s first innings score of 159 at the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs with a score of 159 at the loss of 3 wickets in 20 overs. Pakistan allrounder Shadab Khan’s 25-ball 40 included 3 sixes and a four. His performance stood out among other batsmen. U.S.A bowler Noshtush Kenjige picked up 3 wickets in his 4-over spell.

 USA’s captain Monank Patel scored a half century in 38 balls. The Pakistan pacers did a decent job in controlling the run rate with the exception of Haris Rauf. The spin bowlers did not contribute to controlling the run rate either.

In the super over USA scored 18 runs which included 7 wides. Pakistan fell short of this by 5 runs. This defeat puts Pakistan in a tight spot as they would have to ensure a victory against India to remain on the safer side. They run the risk of elimination otherwise.
