Officials stated that the fire posed a serious challenge due to the presence of diesel in the train, which intensified the flames. The goods train was reportedly en route from Manali to Tirupati when the incident occurred.

Though the exact cause of the fire is still under investigation, the incident has led to delays in rail traffic along several Chennai-bound routes, adding to the disruption.

Authorities have assured that the fire has been completely extinguished and there is no threat to life at this stage.
