The event, attended by 300 party members and supporters, including Vijay’s parents, S.A. Chandrasekhar and Shoba, marks a new era in the state’s political dynamics as Vijay prepares for the 2026 assembly elections. The Tamilaga Vetri Kalagam flag, a striking design in red and yellow, features two elephants in a combat stance with their front legs and trunks raised. Between the elephants is a wagai flower, a symbol historically associated with victory in the Sangam period, where kings would wear it as a garland after triumphing in battle.
During the flag unveiling, Vijay took a solemn pledge with his party members, vowing to honour the sacrifices of those who fought for the nation’s freedom and to champion equality for all citizens. He emphasized his commitment to eradicating caste-based discrimination and promoting equal rights and opportunities for every individual in Tamil Nadu.
Vijay also reiterated that his party would contest the 2026 elections independently, without alliances, signaling his determination to make a significant impact in his debut political campaign. As he continues to balance his roles in cinema and politics, Vijay’s upcoming film “GOAT,” set for release on September 5, is expected to be his final appearance on the big screen before he fully dedicates himself to his political ambitions.
