In Bengaluru, a 16 year-old boy was allegedly assaulted, forced to strip, and recorded nude by a group of minors who attempted to extort money from him. The incident occurred on April 5, but the victim’s mother filed a police complaint on April 25, citing fear of repercussions for the delay. The accused, all minors, connected with the victim via social media , not as schoolmates or local friends.

They lured the Class 10 student to a parking lot near Wilson Garden, where five boys attacked him, compelled him to undress and recorded him falsely confessing to creating nude videos of girls and extorting Rs 50,000.

The group demanded  Rs 10,000, threatening to share the video online if unpaid, and warned him against telling his mother or police. The boy, attending a reputable school in Bengaluru’s central business district, initially said he was going for lunch but later disclosed the ordeal to his mother.

Police have filed an FIR, charging the accused with extortion, wrongful restraint, causing hurt with weapons, and violations under the IT Act and POCSO Act. They are investigating the reporting delay and a possible female accomplice known to the victim. No arrests have been made yet.
