BJP MP Tejasvi Surya has put forward a 15-point action plan aimed at transforming Bengaluru's civic administration, public transport, and traffic management systems. The proposal comes as Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar held a key meeting on Saturday with city MPs and MLAs to address pressing infrastructure concerns.

Surya, currently travelling to the United States as part of an all-party parliamentary delegation, submitted the agenda through his office. A central proposal is the creation of a "Bengaluru 2050 Vision Group," a think tank comprising experts, civic leaders, and elected officials to develop a long-term roadmap for the city's growth.

The agenda stresses adoption of technology-driven solutions, including AI-powered traffic management, smart signals, and real-time monitoring on congested corridors. It also prioritises revamping public transport by enhancing BMTC services, integrating last-mile connectivity, and fast-tracking Metro and Suburban Rail projects. Surya called for deploying 4,500 electric buses under the PM-eBus Sewa scheme and strengthening BMLTA as the sole mobility authority.

Key infrastructure measures include upgrading arterial roads, completing stalled flyovers and underpasses, and improving pedestrian zones. Surya also proposed a scientific overhaul of stormwater drains and establishing a city-level traffic war room.

He urged immediate local body elections and emphasized opening alternate corridors like NICE Road–Mysore Road and Whitefield–Airport routes. In a letter to Shivakumar, Surya said the proposals target "Bengaluru’s most visible challenges" and called for a shift in urban governance priorities.
