The Telugu film industry is in shock following the sudden demise of veteran actor Rajendra Prasad’s daughter, Gayathri, who passed away early Saturday after suffering a massive heart attack. She was 38.
According to reports, Gayathri was rushed to AIG Hospitals in Hyderabad late Friday night after complaining of chest pain and gastric discomfort. Despite receiving immediate medical attention, she suffered a heart attack at 12:40 am and could not be revived.

Rajendra Prasad, who was away shooting for a project, hurried to the hospital upon receiving the news but was unable to meet his daughter before she passed.
Condolences from across the Telugu film industry poured in, with prominent actors expressing their grief. Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and actor Pawan Kalyan shared his heartfelt sympathies, saying, “The untimely demise of Gayathri is deeply shocking. My thoughts and prayers are with Shri Rajendra Prasad and his family during this difficult time.”
Actor Jr NTR took to social media, expressing sorrow, “The passing of Gayathri, who was very dear, is incredibly saddening. My deepest condolences to Rajendra Prasad and his family.”
Gayathri’s last rites will take place today in Hyderabad. She is survived by her daughter, Sai Tejaswini, a child actor. Rajendra Prasad, 68, remains a beloved figure in the Telugu cinema industry, known for his recent role in the film "Kalki 2898 AD."
