BSF constable P.K. Singh, posted along the Ferozepur sector in Punjab, reportedly strayed across the border and was apprehended by the Pakistan Rangers. Disturbing footage surfaced on social media showing Singh in Pakistani custody, prompting outrage and strong condemnation from Indian authorities.

Indian officials assert that the soldier’s crossing was accidental and have demanded his immediate release. In response, BSF leadership convened an emergency meeting with counterparts from Pakistan Rangers to address the situation and secure Singh’s safe return.

This border incident adds fuel to the already volatile atmosphere between the two nations, following the deadly Pahalgam terrorist strike. Indian security forces have been on high alert, and this latest episode has further strained diplomatic and military relations.

The Ministry of External Affairs is expected to lodge a formal protest, reiterating that such treatment of a uniformed soldier violates international conventions. Meanwhile, BSF sources indicate that all efforts are underway to ensure Singh's swift repatriation and to prevent further escalation along the sensitive frontier.

The situation remains tense as both nations monitor developments closely.
