IndiGo has cancelled all flights to and from Srinagar, Jammu, Amritsar, Leh, Chandigarh, and Rajkot until 11:59 PM on Saturday. The airline issued a statement expressing regret for the inconvenience and assured passengers that their teams are closely monitoring the situation and will provide timely updates.
Air India has also cancelled two-way flights to and from several cities including Jammu, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh, and Rajkot. In an official post, the airline stated that passenger safety is their top priority and that operations will resume once the situation stabilizes.
The decision followed reports of drones being spotted in sensitive border areas like Samba, Akhnoor, Jaisalmer, and Kathua. However, the Indian Army later clarified that there has been no recent drone activity and that the ceasefire remains in place.
Although the Airports Authority of India has reopened the affected airports, the airlines continue to exercise caution. Air India announced that it is preparing to gradually resume operations to the affected cities and thanked passengers for their patience.
