In a significant development following the recent Pahalgam terror attack, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has uncovered a larger conspiracy involving two more popular tourist destinations in Jammu and Kashmir, Aru Valley and Betaab Valley. As per preliminary findings, the terrorists were not acting alone and had local support aiding their movements and plans.

The NIA, which is leading the investigation, has confirmed that the attackers had devised a strategy to target army installations in these valleys, further intensifying the threat in the region. According to sources, these areas were being considered as the next targets in a broader campaign to destabilize the valley and attack Indian security forces.
To unravel the full extent of the terror attack, the NIA is deploying advanced 3D mapping technology to survey and analyze the geography and structures in an around Pahalgam. This modern approach is helping investigators recreate the route and hideouts used by attackers, and assess potential risk zones in Aru and Betaab valleys.
So far, as part of a crackdown on local collaborators, 10 houses belonging to suspected terror associates have been demolished. The NIA believes that dismantling these local networks is key to preventing future attacks and securing the valley.
