Produced by Bunny Vas under Geetha Arts and presented by Allu Aravind, Thandel was initially set for release last year but was postponed to align with Valentine’s Day. The film marks Chaitanya’s biggest opening yet.

Based on a real-life incident, Thandel follows the journey of Raju, a fisherman from Srikakulam who becomes a ship captain and is caught in an international crisis after drifting into Pakistani waters. Sai Pallavi portrays his love interest, Satya. While critics have had mixed reactions, Chaitanya and Pallavi’s performances have been widely appreciated. The film’s performance in the coming days will determine its long-term success.
