An online order went horribly wrong for a young man from the Thane district in the state of Maharashtra. He worked at a photocopy shop. The desire to procure an iPhone made him place an online order. On November 9th however, when the young man received his package, what he uncovered was beyond his wildest imagination.
The man had paid an advance sum of Rs 46,000 for the order but upon opening the package all he could spot were three soap bars which are used for cleaning utensils. These were placed inside a box meant for mobile phones.
The man distraught over these turn of events approached the Bhayandar Police Station. The police have speculated that the fraud unfolded during the phase of delivery. The original package meant to be dispatched has been replaced with this well hidden concealment while the phone was enroute for delivery.
A complaint has been registered with regard to the case. Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) that deals with cheating has been invoked in this case. Investigations are underway. The culprit remains unidentified as of the moment.
