For millions of Indians, getting into one of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) or Indian Institute of Management (IIM) campuses is a lifelong dream. However many develop an alternative path to life after having achieved success by virtue of belonging to these institutes.

One such person is Acharya Prashant. Acharya Prashant pursued a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from IIT Delhi and completed his MBA in IIM Ahmedabad in 2003. Acharya is an ex-civil servant. He was a senior manager in the Time Group until 2005. He however found his true calling in spirituality. He founded the Advait Life-Foundation in July 2006. This became the Prashant Advait Foundation in December 2015.

The institute plays a crucial role in the dissemination of the Advaita Vedanta that was first propagated by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th Century. Wisdom pertaining to the Bhagvad Geetha and the Upanishads is also shared by the organisation.

Acharya is also actively involved in Animal Rights Activism. He is currently a best-selling author. “Karma: Why everything you know about it is wrong” published in July 2021 earned him the tag. He was awarded as the ‘most influential vegan’ by the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).
