Three members of a British family lost their lives in a tragic plane crash in India on Thursday, just as they were preparing to return to their homeland after a visit.

The deceased have been identified as Aqeel Nanabawa, Hannah Worazi, and four-year-old Sarah. All three were residents of the Gloucester area in the United Kingdom. They were reportedly concluding a visit to India and were on their way back to the UK when the fatal accident occurred.

Authorities confirmed that all three were British nationals and had only recently arrived in India for a personal visit. Details surrounding the circumstances of the crash remain under investigation, but officials have expressed deep sorrow over the loss of life.

Family friends in Gloucester described them as warm and deeply connected to both the UK and India. “This is an unimaginable tragedy. They were kind-hearted people who loved their roots,” reportedly said one neighbour.

The British High Commission in India is working closely with local authorities to provide support to the bereaved family and ensure repatriation processes are completed smoothly.

The crash has reignited concerns over air travel safety, especially for private and charter flights in the region. Further updates are expected as investigations progress.

A community memorial is being planned in Gloucester to honour the lives lost in the crash.
