Bengaluru’s Ramakrishna Math in Basavanagudi will resonate with the strains of classical music as it hosts a three-day cultural festival, Sri Ramakrishna Sangeeta Sourabha, from July 11 to 13. The event will unfold at the Swami Vivekananda Sabhangana within the math premises, with performances scheduled each evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The festival opens on July 11 with a Hindustani classical vocal recital by Venkatesh Kumar, who will be accompanied by Raghunath Nakod on tabla and Vyasamurthy Katti on harmonium, promising a soulful start to the musical celebration.
On the second day, July 12, audiences can look forward to a captivating veena recital by D. Balakrishna. Joining him will be V. Vamshidhar on flute, B. S. Prashant on mridangam, and Shamith Gowda on ghatam, bringing a blend of melodic and rhythmic richness to the evening.
The final day, July 13, offers a medley of performances. The programme includes a group vocal presentation led by Kumar Modak, a tabla solo by Kumar Pradyumna Karpur, and a veena recital by Kumar Chinmay and team, accompanied by Sathyakumar on mridangam.
Hosted at the serene Ramakrishna Math campus on Bull Temple Road, this open-to-all event invites music lovers from across the city to immerse themselves in three evenings of classical excellence. Entry is free for all attendees.
