Three young women tragically lost her lives in a swimming pool at a private resort in Someshwar, on the outskirts of Mangaluru, after struggling in deep water. The incident, which occurred around 10:30 a.m., has raised concerns about safety measures at the facility.
According to reports, the victim, hailing from Mysuru, was part of a group enjoying leisure time at the resort. The pool, which transitions from shallow to six feet deep, became the site of the tragedy when the young women, who reportedly did not know how to swim, moved into the deeper section and began to struggle. Distressing footage of the incident was captured on the resort’s CCTV cameras.

Resort staff discovered the situation when a member of the group, noticed three individuals in distress in the water. Efforts to rescue the victim were unsuccessful. The absence of security personnel or lifeguards at the pool has been highlighted as a significant factor in the fatality.
Criticism has mounted over the resort's irresponsibility in not ensuring safety, with observers pointing out that private facilities are accountable for accidents on their premises.
