The cow carcass found near the site where the tigers died was traced back to a man named Shivanna from a nearby village. His son, Maada, is also under suspicion now. Both are currently being questioned by forest officials at an undisclosed location.

The tiger deaths may have occurred after they consumed meat from the poisoned cow. Over 30 people have been interrogated so far, with seven individuals being shortlisted for further inquiry.
Authorities suspect that Maada may have intentionally laced the cow’s body with poison after a tiger attacked it. However, no official confirmation has been provided yet and alternative theories are also being considered including the possibility that someone else may have poisoned the cow.
In addition to Shivanna and his son, five more people are now in custody. Forest officials are also questioning others who have previously lost livestock to predator attacks or who regularly send cattle into forest areas to graze.
The investigation remains active, and officials are expected to release more details soon.
