Officials of the Indian Forest Service (IFS) visited the premises of JD(S) leader H.D Kumaraswamy’s son Nikhil Kumarswamy, Sandalwood superstar Darshan, Sandalwood producer Rockline Venkatesh and Sandalwood actor Jageesh after pictures of them flaunting Pendants with material derived from a Tiger’s body had become viral. After conducting relevant tests, they have concluded that the pendants belonging to Darshan and Nikhil Kumaraswamy are not original. This was confirmed by Kumar Pushpak, a prominent official affiliated to the IFS.
Five places were visited by the officials across the city. Searches were carried out around their premises. The pedants have been kept under the custody of the government. The pedants have been sent to the FSL (Forest Service Laboratory) for further examination. The outcome of the examination would determine whether the Tiger nails have been used.
The pendant found in the house of Jaggesh has been revealed to have been very old. This has hence made the task of verifying its authenticity harder. It is still being investigated. The officials assured that if it is found the original pendants have been hidden, individuals would be charged with destruction of evidence. They reiterated that the viral videos cannot be a basis for levying charges on individuals. The officials however affirmed their intention too not spare anyone flouting the law.
