One of the most shocking developments in the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections was from the Faizabad Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh. This is the same constituency in which the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha took place on January 21st 2024. The slogan of ‘400 Paar’ which many experts suggest worked against the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) favour was raised after the event resonated across devotees of Lord Ram across India. The Samajwadi Party (SP) candidate Awadhesh Prasad secured a win over the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Lallu Singh by a margin of 54567 votes.

Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Abhishek Banerjee commented on this development in an interaction with reporters. “This shows on what level the people's outrage is against the BJP. I don't want to comment on the margin much, but the Ram Mandir that you made an agenda and went to every citizen from Kashmir to Kanyakumari saying, ‘We made the Ram mandir and BJP did Ram's pratishtha’. How can a human carry out god's pratishtha? Can anyone do it? Do I have the capability to perform god's pratishtha? This shows that where they performed Ram Mandir's pratishtha [in Ayodhya], they lost from the same constituency. I would just say, Prabhu Ram aye toh insaaf aya,” Abhishek said. Abhishek successfully emerged as the winning candidate from the Diamond Harbour constituency in West Bengal.
