Officials from various departments, including Mudhalvarin Mugavari, Cooperation, Economics and Statistics, Treasuries and Accounts, Commercial Taxes and Registration, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Human Resources Management, and Agriculture, are participating in the program, an official release stated.

In addition, personnel from the Tamil Nadu e-Governance Agency, Greater Chennai Corporation, Directorate of Town Panchayats, TANGEDCO, and the State Crime Records Bureau have joined the training. The program, titled “Business Analytics – Science of Data-Driven Decision Making,” began on Wednesday and focuses on leveraging analytics to enhance governance and welfare delivery.

The training initiative follows the Tamil Nadu government’s announcement in June last year to equip officials with data analytics skills. The move aims to ensure that welfare schemes effectively reach intended beneficiaries while identifying those who may have been overlooked.

By integrating data analytics into governance, the state seeks to improve transparency, efficiency, and impact assessment of various welfare programs. The initiative reflects Tamil Nadu’s commitment to modernizing administrative processes and adopting technology-driven governance strategies.
