He was allegedly involved in masterminding three major terror strikes: the 2001 assault on the CRPF camp in Rampur, the 2005 attack during the Indian Science Congress in Bangalore, and the 2006 bombing of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) headquarters in Nagpur. These attacks spanned five years and resulted in numerous fatalities, significantly amplifying the threat posed by LeT in India. Operating under the pseudonym “Vinode Kumar,” Khalid spent a number of years in Nepal, where he assumed a fake identity, married a local woman named Nagma Banu, and continued to orchestrate terror activities.

While in Nepal, he is said to have been instrumental in coordinating LeT’s operations, playing a vital role in recruitment and logistics. Later, Khalid moved to Matli in Badin district, Sindh province, Pakistan, where he resumed his work for the banned terrorist group. His activities in Pakistan included overseeing recruitment and raising funds for terror operations carried out by LeT and its affiliate organization, Jamaat-ud-Dawa.
