Namma Metro QR tickets now on Navi UPI; commuters can plan routes, book trips, and pay digitally. Expansion to more cities soon

Bengaluru Metro commuters can now purchase QR tickets directly through the Navi UPI app, following its integration with the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC). The new service enables passengers to plan routes, book single or return journey tickets, and make instant digital payments seamlessly on one platform.

The initiative, already operational in Delhi and Mumbai, is set to expand to other major cities including Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kochi. By adopting this system, the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) aims to strengthen its paperless ticketing drive, reducing reliance on physical tickets and streamlining passenger convenience.

Officials highlight that the integration not only simplifies travel but also supports sustainable practices by cutting down on paper usage. With digital ticketing gaining traction across urban transport networks, the Navi UPI partnership marks another step toward modernizing Bengaluru’s public transit system.
