Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal’s wedding in Sangli was postponed after Smriti’s father was hospitalized, following earlier festive celebrations
The much-anticipated wedding of Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal, scheduled to take place in Sangli, Maharashtra, has been postponed following a sudden health emergency in the Mandhana family. Smriti’s father, Shrinivas Mandhana, was taken ill on Sunday morning and required immediate hospitalization. He is currently under medical observation, and the family has chosen to defer the ceremony to prioritize his recovery.
Smriti Mandhana, one of India’s most celebrated cricketers, has amassed over 9,500 international runs and played a pivotal role in India’s triumph at the 2025 Women’s Cricket World Cup. She has also been instrumental in earlier victories, including the Women’s Asia Cup titles in 2016 and 2022. Her fiancé, Palash Muchhal, hails from Indore and is now based in Mumbai, where he has established himself as a music composer. His sister, Palak Muchhal, is a renowned playback singer and lyricist.
