On the other hand, Jolie had a contrasting perspective, influenced by her own unconventional upbringing. Angie had a different upbringing and wanted the kids to be more independent and responsible for their own schedules from a young age. Jolie leaned towards a more free-spirited approach, encouraging their children to be self-reliant and make their own decisions early on.

These differing philosophies reportedly led to increasing friction within their marriage, adding to other issues such as disputes over their French winery, Château Miraval. Over time, the growing parenting disagreements and other unresolved conflicts contributed to the breakdown of their relationship.
