In one month alone, Rs 8.99 crore has been collected by virtue of fine collected for traffic violation. 161,149 cases have been filed between the period starting from June 1st until June 30th. Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS) cameras are being used to get hold of the perpetrators.

The cases mentioned above only consist of violations in the month of June. The police have imposed heavy fines on those who have been found guilty of violations. The date, spot and time of the violation have been made known to those who have been found guilty of the violations through the mobile number procured through the registration number of the vehicles.
60 cameras have been placed along the 119 kilometre stretch for surveillance purposes. Whether such a robust mechanism will keep traffic violations in check remains to be seen.
