A tragic accident near Anchepalya on the Bengaluru-Tumakuru highway claimed the life of a young motorcyclist when a tipper lorry crushed him under its wheels. The deceased has been identified as Annesh (28), a native of Davanagere.

The incident occurred as Annesh was traveling from Nelamangala towards Bengaluru on his motorcycle. According to eyewitness accounts, a tipper lorry approaching from behind struck his bike, causing Annesh to lose balance and fall. Tragically, as he fell, the heavy lorry ran over his head, killing him on the spot.

Local authorities were immediately alerted, and the Nelamangala Traffic Police registered a case at the scene. The police have seized both the lorry and taken the driver into custody for questioning. Preliminary investigations suggest that the accident was caused by reckless driving and possible negligence on the part of the lorry driver.

The accident has left the local community in shock and raised concerns about road safety on the busy Bengaluru-Tumakuru stretch, where heavy vehicles frequently traverse. Residents are calling for stricter enforcement of traffic rules and improved road safety measures to prevent such devastating incidents in the future.

The police are continuing their investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident and any further legal action against the lorry driver. Meanwhile, the deceased’s body has been shifted to the local government hospital for postmortem and handed over to the family.
