A devastating accident occurred at Mandya railway station this morning, resulting in the death of Ramya, a 24-year-old gold medalist in M.Com. The incident took place when the Hampi Express, en route from Bengaluru to Mysuru, collided with Ramya as she was crossing the tracks.

Ramya, a resident of Swarnasandra colony, was known for her academic excellence and was undergoing accountant training in Bengaluru. She used to commute daily by train between Mandya and Bengaluru. On the fateful day, she was at the station with her father, a routine part of their daily journey. As Ramya attempted to cross the tracks, she was struck by the speeding Hampi Express.

The collision occurred near the railway overpass, where the train was traveling at high speed. The impact left Ramya’s body severely injured. The tragic accident has deeply affected her family, who are now grappling with the loss of their beloved daughter.

Mandya Railway Police have retrieved the body and transported it to the district hospital for further examination. An investigation into the incident is underway to determine the circumstances leading to this heart-wrenching tragedy.
