Stand-up comedian Trevor Noah’s performance in Bengaluru scheduled on September 27 at the at Manpho Convention Centre was cancelled as he was inaudible to a section of the audience due to improper audio arrangements in the venue.
“Dear Bengaluru India, I was so looking forward to performing in your amazing city but due to technical issues, we’ve been forced to cancel both shows,” Trevor Noah posted on X.
“We tried everything but because the audience can’t hear the comedians on stage there’s literally no way to do a show. We’ll make sure all ticket holders receive a full refund and again I’m so sorry for both the inconvenience and disappointment this has never happened to us before,” he added.
His performance was scheduled at 7:30 pm. However, due to a massive traffic jam along Outer Ring Road, Trevor Noah was himself late to the venue by 20 minutes.
“There is a huge traffic pile-up on ORR from Marathahalli to Sarjapur. Please instruct IT/BT companies located on ORR not to rush out as there is a massive jam due to invariably high numbers of vehicles.” Deputy Commissioner of Police-West (Traffic), Kuldeep Kumar R Jain said on X.
Audience also had issues with respect to the parking facility, entry into the venue due to narrow roads and poor air conditioning.
