In a stunning move to make “America Great” again… Donald Trump has officially slapped a 10% tariff on goods from a truly big economic powerhouse- Heard Island and McDonald Islands, the icy, uninhabited specks near Antarctica that are home to exactly zero humans and a lot of confused penguins.

Yes, you heard that right. The penguin-only paradise accessible only after a two-week boat ride from Perth, somehow ended up on Trump’s latest reciprocal tariff list, alongside actual countries  that produce goods. Social media, as expected, exploded with laughter, memes and one overwhelming question: “Why”?

One user summed it up perfectly: “So let me get this straight, Donald Trump imposed tariffs on an island full of penguins, but left Russia alone?”

Another post joked : “The penguins better start paying their fair share.” No word yet on whether the penguin population plans to protest or simply continue their fishy diet in silent bewilderment.  

Trump proudly announced the tariffs on 180 countries on April 2, promising it would make America “Wealthy again” and bring back jobs, though we assume penguin wrangling wasn’t on the employment list.
