The Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) has dispatched 2,50,000 kilograms of Nandini ghee to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) in response to a major order placed by the temple trust.
The TTD, which manages one of the world’s richest and most visited pilgrimage sites, the Tirupati temple has expressed a demand for 10 lakh kg (1,000 metric tonnes) of ghee to be used in the preparation of laddus and other offerings to Lord Venkateshwara. In response, the KMF took swift action to ensure timely delivery of the first consignment.
The initial supply of 2.5 lakh kg was sent from the Mandya Milk Union, a regional unit of the KMF, with utmost security and logistical coordination. Heavily guarded trucks transported the consignment to Tirupati, reflecting the scale and sanctity of the operation.
Officials from KMF confirmed that this is just the first phase, and that the remaining quantity will be gradually supplied from other milk unions across the state.
This partnership is expected to boost KMF’s visibility and trust in southern India, while also opening up large-scale institutional markets for Nandini products in the future.
