Bengaluru is set to enhance its connectivity with the addition of two more Vande Bharat Express train services, reportedly according to South Western Railway (SWR) officials. The railway board has approved the introduction of an extra Vande Bharat train service connecting Chennai and Mysuru via Bengaluru, as well as a new service between Kalaburagi and Bengaluru.

The schedule for the Chennai-Mysuru route sees the train departing Mysuru at 6 am and arriving in Chennai at 12:20 pm. On the return journey, it leaves Chennai at 5 pm and reaches Mysuru at 11:20 pm, with stops at Mandya, SMVT Bengaluru, Krishnarajapura, and Jolarpettai.

Initially, due to maintenance requirements in Mysuru, the train will terminate at SMVT Bengaluru. However, starting April 5, it will operate regularly between Mysuru and Chennai.

The new Vande Bharat train departing from Kalaburagi at 5:15 am reaches Bengaluru at 2 pm, and leaves Bengaluru at 2:40 pm, reaching Kalaburagi at 11:30 pm. Stops in Bengaluru are at Yelahanka and SMVB (terminal station). Until maintenance facilities are set up in Kalaburagi, the train will operate between Kalaburagi and SMVB. Once maintenance works are completed, Bengaluru Cantonment will handle the train instead of SMVB.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to inaugurate the new train services on March 12. Currently, Vande Bharat trains connect Bengaluru with Chennai, Hyderabad, Coimbatore, and Hubballi-Dharwad.
