Bengaluru, one of India's largest bike taxi markets, sees over one million bike taxi rides monthly, contributing to the 280 million rides recorded nationwide in 2022, according to a KPMG report.

Despite the rising popularity of ride-hailing services, women’s participation as commercial drivers remains limited. Lack of access to safe transport has also been a key factor discouraging women from taking jobs far from home. Uber Moto Women aims to bridge this gap by creating a safer environment for female riders and drivers.

The service includes enhanced safety features, such as trip-sharing with trusted contacts, phone number anonymization, a 24x7 Safety Helpline, and proactive RideCheck monitoring. Female drivers may also find it more comfortable and lucrative to operate during early or late hours with women riders.

Available across major parts of Bengaluru, the service is expected to set a new benchmark for inclusive urban transport. Users can access "Uber Moto" and "Uber Moto Women" options via the app.
