UK First Lady Akshata reveals the fight her pet Nova has with Larry, the cat

In an interesting revelation, Akshata Murty, the wife of UK PM Rishi Sunak, has revealed that there are heated exchanges between their pet dog Nova and the resident cat, Larry on Downing Street. 

She also revealed that most of the time, it is Lary that has the last laugh! 

Larry has been residing at No 10 for the last 10 to 12 years. It is referred to as Chief Mouser to the Cabinet Office. Its chief role is to keep mice at bay. 

Interestingly, it has also served five Conservative Prime Ministers – David Cameron, Theresa May, Boris Johnson, Liz Truss and now Rishi Sunak.

“You saw our dog earlier, Nova has mixed emotions; she sometimes doesn’t get on with Larry the cat and they’ve had some heated exchanges and Larry’s come out on top; our family is so grateful to be here,” she said as reported by Times of India. 

On the question of how it is to be the wife of the PM, she said, "You know, I've had a busy life before. I have a busy life now. I think what's been incredible is the range of opportunities that I've been exposed to... meeting really interesting people."

She was taking part in an interview for the ‘FYI: Weekly News Show’. It will be aired on Sky Kids channel over the weekend.
