During the Union Budget for 2023-2024, Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman had announced the establishment of one ‘Unity Mall’ in each state. Mysuru has been chosen as the location for this initiative in Karnataka.

The ‘Unity Mall’ will feature shops designed to resemble traditional crafts and handicraft outlets, showcasing GI Tag products as well. These outlets will align with the ‘one district, one destination’ promotion, similar to initiatives already underway at certain railway stations.
