On Tuesday, a US military aircraft carrying 205 Indian nationals took off from San Antonio, Texas, en route to Amritsar, Punjab. The flight is scheduled to make a refueling stop in Germany before reaching India. Each individual on board was reportedly verified before deportation.
This operation marks the beginning of what is expected to be a series of deportations in the coming weeks, as US authorities continue to enforce stricter border controls and immigration policies. More batches of Indian migrants who were residing illegally in the US are likely to follow.
While US officials have not provided specific details, they emphasized that the country is actively tightening immigration laws and expelling undocumented individuals. The ongoing crackdown serves as a warning against unlawful migration and reinforces the administration’s commitment to addressing the issue.
With an estimated 11 million undocumented migrants in the US, the deportation effort is expected to expand further, affecting individuals from various nationalities. The Indian government is likely to coordinate with US authorities to manage the influx of returnees.
