Johnson emphasized the importance of the US-India partnership, grounded in shared democratic values and the rule of law. He said Washington would do everything possible to support India’s security and efforts to maintain regional stability. US President Donald Trump had also expressed solidarity with India soon after the attack, offering full support to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and extending sympathies to the victims' families.

Further reinforcing US involvement, Secretary of State Marco Rubio engaged in diplomatic calls with Indian and Pakistani leaders, urging de-escalation of tensions and promoting direct communication between the two nuclear-armed nations.

In response to the attack, India has suspended the Indus Water Treaty, closed the Attari-Wagah border, and restricted airspace access. Cross-border firing has continued along the LoC for 12 consecutive nights. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Home Affairs has announced large-scale civil defense drills on May 7 to improve civilian preparedness against potential threats.
