Former Indian cricketer Robin Uthappa has shared his personal struggle with depression and suicidal thoughts in a poignant new video titled "Overcoming Depression & Suicidal Thoughts" on his YouTube channel. In the video, Uthappa candidly discusses the profound impact depression had on his life and the emotional challenges he faced.

"I have personally been there and I know it is not a pretty journey," Uthappa says in the video, reflecting on his experiences. He describes the condition as "very challenging, debilitating, exhausting, and heavy," underscoring the emotional weight that comes with it.

The cricketer, who represented India from 2006 to 2015, elaborates on the sense of being a burden he felt during his battle with clinical depression. "I have often felt when I was going through clinical depression as a burden on myself, forget the people around me, I felt a burden onto myself," he explains. He further adds, "Just going through life in a way that was far from where I wanted to be and I had no answers."

Uthappa also references notable figures from the cricketing world, such as Graham Thorpe and David Johnson, who recently passed away after suffering from depression. His video aims to raise awareness and offer support to those grappling with similar struggles, highlighting the importance of addressing mental health issues openly and empathetically.
