Reasons Behind the Postponement

The makers of Chhaava have not officially addressed the postponement, but industry insiders suggest a clash with Pushpa 2: The Rule prompted the decision. The Telugu action-drama, set to release on December 5, is one of the most awaited films of the year and could overshadow Chhaava at the box office.

Additionally, February 19 holds symbolic significance as it marks the birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. This strategic release date aligns with the film’s theme, which focuses on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, Shivaji's son.

About Chhaava

Directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan, the film showcases the journey of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, a Maratha emperor and warrior. The title Chhaava translates to “lion cub” in Marathi, a nod to Sambhaji's legacy as the son of the Maratha Empire's founder, Shivaji Maharaj.

The film stars Rashmika Mandanna and Akshaye Khanna alongside Kaushal, with music composed by AR Rahman. Fans will now have to wait a bit longer for this historical epic to hit the big screen.
